Fall is the best time to get new trees into the ground. Join us at the next Ojai Trees volunteer tree planting on Saturday, November 17th.
Here are the ways you can participate:
1. Have a tree planted at your property .
We can come to your home and help with tree selection and location. We'll order the tree, deliver it to your home, provide soil amendment, staking if needed, and plant the tree for you. We perform these services for a donation to Ojai Trees of $110 for a climate-appropriate 15-gallon tree. All our trees are grown locally and are of the highest quality. We will not accept a tree that does not meet our standards. ( If that is your preferred option The tree order deadline is Monday, November 12th order here)
2. Join us in planting a few trees in a neighborhood near you!
We always need volunteers to help with our planting events. Volunteers are trained to plant a tree correctly and are supervised by an Ojai Trees Forester. Each planting event ends with a festive, tasty lunch.
To volunteer, register in advance here by November 12th. Tell us where you live, and your general level of strength and fitness. You should be able to do general gardening chores such as kneeling, bending and lifting. You will be assigned to a team at our morning orientation and work will end around noon with a yummy provided lunch. Wear work clothes and a hat, bring gloves, sunscreen and water.
Whether you chose option 1, option 2, or both a planting event is a positive action towards healing our environment. The work is easy and fun because "many hands make light work". Please join us.
