Ojai Trees is again partnering with the City of Ojai to make Ojai a greener, safer, more pedestrian friendly community! By donating five new California Sycamores to the newest complete street project on S. Bristol Avenue and an additional five Valley Oaks and one Coast Live Oak to be used soon in another improvement project on Blanch St.
This newest project took two weeks to complete and includes a new sidewalk, curbs, native landscaping and rain catchment basins. The trees and vegetation once established shouldn’t need any irrigation.
The idea is part of a "complete streets strategy", to slow traffic on the street and provide shade for walkers and bicyclists increasing safety and decreasing traffic in the downtown corridor.
A big round of applause for the City of Ojai for taking sustainability and climate changes seriously!
